2025 Animation Projects

Here are sneak peeks of some of my big projects in 2025! Most of these projects were completed while working for CLAN B and Balmond Studio. Everything from initial planning to final product are my own work. Making-of material incoming.

🚀 PROJECT 1
Darkenlolly: The Lost Bear is my sci-fantasy metroidvania for Dr. Kris Alexander's game design class. It's the first time I learned game design. This is my own story, art, animation and worldbuilding! Follow Lavaria, a scientist girl, as she shrinks herself into the microworld to find her lost tardigrade (water bear).

🚀 PROJECT 2
Number 9: The Search for the Sigma Code is an animated adaptation of the mathematical book by Cecil Balmond, one of the world's most legendary architects. This is almost a 15-minute animation that explores cool mathematical revelations while bringing to life the book's young mathematician, Enjil.

This was a massive undertaking for me, since it involved condensing the book's material and careful planning. I came up with a proposal, script and visual development work. Then I did character design, storyboarding, background painting and all art and animation as well as final compositing. In order to stay within time and budget constraints among other requirements, this is a motion graphics animation with frame-by-frame elements.

🚀 PROJECT 3
War of the Words is a 2-minute animation that I did for CLAN B to bring to life a very fun script on the art of copywriting. I completed this in roughly 3.5 days (worked my butt off), doing all of the visual development, storyboarding, animation and final compositing.

🚀 VIDEOS 1 & 2
These are snippets I'd stitched together of 4 line animations I completed totaling roughly 5 minutes. They bring to life Balmond Studio's architectural concepts that went into designing Cinnamon Life, which is a billion-dollar mixed development in Colombo. The animations incorporate Cecil Balmond's sketches!

🚀 VIDEO 3
This is a depiction of the design elements in Cinnamon Life's interiors, which are a blend of artistry, math and science. I did the visual development, paintings, motion design and compositing. The props have been animated by 2 other junior animators: Rey and Ginuki (the floating bubbles, light streaks on columns, the quirky birds etc).
